Making sustainability visible is a declared goal of #changemaker.
In addition to a large number of films on our YouTube channel, we are now also creating podcasts on the SDGs.
In addition, schools or other institutions can borrow exhibitions on various sustainability topics from us.
Statement by the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Nikhil Seth, on “Future Fashion at school”.
A story about humanity! Event in November 2019 in Heilbronn with the winner of the “Aurora Prize” (human rights award) Marguerite Barankitse.
Corona relief campaign by #changemaker for Rwanda and Bangladesh. Interviews with Taslima Akhter, Hasan Rubel (Dhaka, Bangladesh) and Marguerite Barankitse (Kigali, Rwanda).
Our partner school Amnada Pathasala (Dhaka, Bangladesh) introduces itself.
A podcast on “Water Day” – SDG 6
The Water Decade was proclaimed by the United Nations in 2018 and essentially has two goals:
The changemaker team from three schools has created a podcast on this.
A podcast on “Heimat” – SDG 10
We want to search for traces of ourselves and deal with our own identity. The focus is on the term “home”.
In 2018 we visited our partners in Dhaka in Bangladesh. In addition to students from the changemaker team, two NGOs and two textile companies were also present.
The changemaker team visited the United Nations in Geneva for the second time. Julian Caletti, UNITAR staff member, prepared the meeting and visits to the Palace of Nations.
With eight schools from the district of Heilbronn and Ludwigsburg, the #changemakers organized the 1st SDG youth summit in Heilbronn with 1100 visitors over two days.
The #changemaker team has always been committed to the topic of “sustainability” with great perseverance. This commitment was rewarded in a large number of competitions.
Even during the pandemic, we have not forgotten our partners in the Global South. In cooperation with the Catholic parish of Gundelsheim, we sent a container with 12 tons of relief supplies to the Mahama Camp refugee camp in Rwanda.
SDG 3 – “Health and well-being”. It was important for the team to answer the question: What are we eating there? The following aspects were examined in this project: seed-proof plants, regionality and sustainability and vegetarian food.
The core competence of the #changemaker team is fashion. At the Mahama Camp we support the Startup Elite Design. We have placed an order for 1000 “school pencil cases”. We offer these pencil cases to schools and other interested parties for 4 euros. All profits are invested in the startup.
March 21st was World Water Day and we wanted to draw attention to the scarcity of water, which is such an important resource.
The students of the Friedrich-von-Alberti-Gymnasium in Bad Friedrichshall created a “Textile Box”.
This 3 x 2m box is intended to illustrate the working conditions of seamstresses in Bangladesh and other manufacturing countries in a clear and interactive way. This is intended to encourage consumers to pay more attention to fair and sustainable textile products.
The exhibition “The life & struggle of garment workers” was created as part of a collaboration between the Friedrich-von-Alberti-Gymnasium in Bad Friedrichshall and the award-winning photographer Taslima Akhter from Bangladesh.
Taslima Akhter works as a freelance photographer and lecturer in photojournalism. She is also President of Bangladesh Garment Workers Solidarity, which supports garment workers in Bangladesh.
The exhibition shows the dark side of the textile industry. But fashion can also be different. The exhibition was created as part of the Future Fashion campaign, which campaigns for sustainable fashion and offers exciting alternatives to conventional consumption.
The #changemaker team has designed an exhibition on the subject of “fashion” for SDG 12 “Responsible Consumption”. The topic is dealt with in three subject areas: facts, environment and social issues.
In cooperation with 2aid.org we designed an exhibition for World Water Day. In addition to the information pillar, we also stuck the new water brand “Dirty Water” onto a drinks fridge.
The water column can also be borrowed.
